Description
Streptavidin, B-Phycoerythrin conjugated is produced as the B-phycoerythrin derivative of streptavidin and is provided in 0.1 M sodium phosphate, 0.1 M sodium chloride, 2 mM sodium azide, pH 7.5.
Streptavidin-B-Phycoerythrin (B-PE) can be used to label biotinylated proteins/antibodies and biotin derivatized surfaces ias secondary detection reagents in histochemical applications, flow cytometry, blot analysis, and immunoassays. These reagents can also be employed to localize biocytin, biocytin-X, biotin ethylenediamine and so on. The following are commonly used methods for employing streptavidin as a secondary detection reagent.
Application
A biotinylated primary molecules such as an antibody is bound to tissues, cells, or other surfaces. Excess protein is removed by washing, and detection is mediated by adding Streptavidin-B-Phycoerythrin.The concentration provided is based upon molecular mass of streptavidin independent of any additional molecular mass that might be added by the B-PE conjugation. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤0.125 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Storage
Store reagent at 2° – 8° C. DO NOT FREEZE. Reagent is stable for at least 6 months after purchase. For research or further manufacturing use only.
